In 2004, Ohio State researchers spoke with pastors and parents at local congregations about what it’s like to raise a teenager in the church today. We finished the study and wanted to talk to you about what we found. The feedback session will involve:
· Listening to a brief review of the focus group results
· Taking part in a small group discussion
Previous focus group participants can share their knowledge, experiences, and opinions about religion and risky behavior among youth at one of our follow-up meetings. You may benefit from getting to know other people who care about raising youth in the church today. We may talk about sensitive subjects, so there is a risk that you might feel embarrassed. The group, however, will be led by a facilitator who will try to keep the discussion open and honest. Participation is completely voluntary and you will receive $20 for attending one of the feedback meetings:
These meetings will be for adults who previously attended a focus group. We will also work with prior participants to identify one additional, interested parent who would like come. The CoCHY project staff will be in contact with local congregations about the project sometime in late autumn. Keep your eye out for letters and flyers. We hope to see you at one of the feedback meetings!
