Response to Disaster Surge for Public Health Nurses

Dear Registrant:

 

Congratulations!  You have completed the registration process for the “Response to Disaster Surge for Public Health Nurses.” This module is hosted on CARMEN, The Ohio State University’s learning management system. 

 

You must follow the steps below to obtain a CARMEN guest user login to complete the module.  If you already have a CARMEN guest user login, proceed to Step 4:

 

STEP 1:  After registering on OhioTRAIN, Ms. Cheryl Engle, Learning Environment Manager, will obtain a CARMEN guest user account for you from our automated system.  

 

STEP 2:  An e-mail will then be automatically sent to your e-mail address informing you, the guest, of sponsored account access with instructions on how to activate your account and a link to a special account activation page.  It is imperative that you take action and do not miss this message! 

 

STEP 3:  The system generated e-mail will be sent by OIT Customer Services with the subject line header Support Center Call 1056307 - OSU Sponsored Accounts.”  Be sure to activate your CARMEN guest user account by clicking on the link provided.  At this point, you will be initializing your account with a username and new password.

 

STEP 4:  Enter the CARMEN learning management system at http://carmen.osu.edu/.

 

STEP 5:  Click the blue “Login” button.

 

STEP 6:  Enter your Username: (name.#) and Password: (you self-selected by following the Technology Support Center e-mail sent previously).

 

STEP 7:  Click LOGIN.

 

STEP 8:  Under the “MY COURSES” tab you should see the Nursing Preparedness Disaster course.  If you don’t see it automatically, click on the (+) sign in front of the course title to expand the offering.

 

STEP 9:  Once inside the course, click on the CONTENT tab (located on the top red toolbar).

 

STEP 10:  You may begin working your way through the module at your own pace.  At the end of the module, you are required to take a CARMEN quiz (post-test) to measure your learning and complete the evaluation.
