Associate/full professor (tenure-track or tenured)
Director, Health Equity and Multicultural Health
The Ohio State
University College of Public Health is searching for candidates for a
tenured or tenure-track faculty position to provide leadership for a
newly proposed Center for Health Equity and Multicultural Health. The
successful candidate is expected to develop and lead the newly
established Center, which will coordinate the academic research and
service activities of faculty and students in the College of Public Health
around issues of minority health, health disparities, health equity,
environmental justice, and community involvement, and serve as a
liaison between the concerns of community members and the college.
Candidates should have a
demonstrated track record in conducting community-based public health
research in the area of health equity and multicultural health and a
commitment to improving the health of diverse and underserved
communities. Candidates should also have a demonstrated
ability to communicate with diverse populations and collaborate with
community leaders. The successful candidate will be expected to
collaborate with existing faculty and to develop their own program of
funded research involving outreach to communities and issues of health
equity for diverse communities. High quality graduate teaching and
advising are also expected.
A doctoral degree in public
health, medicine, or a related discipline is required. Rank and salary
will be determined by the candidate’s credentials. We anticipate
making this appointment at a senior (Associate or Full Professor)

must have a strong record of funded research and peer-reviewed
publications. Senior candidates will also have the opportunity to
bring or recruit junior colleagues.
Applications will be accepted
through Jan. 1, 2008 and will be considered as they arrive. The date of
